Why is it important for Charlestown businesses to have a viable Chamber of Commerce? Why should my business be a member?
The Charlestown Chamber is a local organization of businesses whose goal is to further the interests of businesses. Business owners in Charlestown formed the Chamber to advocate on behalf of the business community.
With so many changes going on in the landscape of Charlestown, and the upcoming developments that will affect Charlestown, it is important for all businesses that the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce maintains an awareness of key issues at the local, state and federal levels, and gives a voice to small business matters that may directly affect the local economy. Working with the same agencies, the Chamber is always finding ways to obtain free or reduced cost services to our businesses. The Chamber also holds a long standing seat on the Charlestown Neighborhood Council to better serve the local businesses and stay informed of upcoming developments and issues. Have a zoning issue? Need a permit? Now you have a resource that is only a phone call or email away.
The Chamber helps in promoting your business. All businesses that are members can list special events, sales, and promotions free of charge on the Charlestown Community Calendar that is available for all residents and businesses. Your business can offer discounts to other Chamber members, encouraging business-to-business commerce.
The Charlestown Chamber holds educational events to keep you informed. We hold bi-monthly networking events so you can meet and mingle with other business owners. There are twice yearly Fairs that highlight local and stay at home businesses.
It is important to note that the Chamber’s annual revenue is derived only from our annual membership investment fees. We are only funded by you, the business owners. Help us to help you – become a member of the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce.
