Job Title: Executive Director

Organization: Charlestown Lacrosse & Learning Center

Job Summary: The Executive Director of Charlestown Lacrosse and Learning Center reports to the Board of Directors and has overall responsibility for the programmatic, financial, strategic, and daily operations of the organization. In addition to internal management functions, the Executive Director serves as Charlestown Lacrosse and Learning Center’s ambassador to the community, by cultivating relationships with participants and their families, other nonprofits, and local corporations and foundations. The Executive Director will be expected to build on Charlestown Lacrosse & Learning Center’s solid 11-year foundation, helping to strengthen its curriculum programming.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Programmatic:
• Facilitate and oversee daily program operations for athletic and educational activities
• Ensure program quality and seek to strengthen current accountability and evaluation processes
• Generate positive interactions with families, staff, grantors, volunteers, and the community
• Coordinate the recruitment, screening, training, and retention of volunteers (family and community)

  Financial:

• Work with Board Finance Committee and Bookkeeper to ensure sound management of finances, develop annual budget, and provide monthly financial reports
• Provide leadership in developing plans and strategies to raise funds, including: cultivation and stewardship of individual, foundation and corporate donors
• Coordinate grant-writing & research, and financial reports

  Strategic:

• Develop collaborative community partnerships and alliances to best serve our target population
• Provide leadership in implementing Charlestown Lacrosse and Learning Center’s overall mission and strategy
• Work with Board of Directors to identify and set priorities, areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth and increased impact

  Administration, Management & Daily Operations:

• Supervise staff and volunteer support
• Maintain files and record keeping, including: volunteer, participant and fundraising databases
• Sustain facility upkeep and maintenance
• Perform daily office tasks including: sort mail, answer and return phone inquiries

  Qualifications:

• B.A. or B.S. degree
• Minimum of 2 years related experience
• Confidence in mining funding sources through phone calls, events, meetings, etc.
• Ability to work independently, be well-organized, self-motivated and a creative problem solver
• Ability to multi-task and follow-up on unresolved issues
• Strong oral and written skills
• Strong computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite
